The Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History
The Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History is a wonderful venue for celebrations. It is positioned adjacent to the beautiful Ella Sharp Park. Here are some frequently asked questions:
1. How much is the rental fee?
$1,500.00 for a Friday, Saturday or Sunday wedding reception. Holiday weekends are $1,950.00. Events are in 7 hour increments. For example, if your guests arrive at 5pm the event must conclude at midnight.
2. What does the rental fee include?
Tables, chairs, set-up, tear-down, access to the patio, use of the preparation kitchen, ample parking and access to the galleries for the first hour of your event.
3. How many does the Community Room seat?
Up to 200 guests plus a bridal party of up to 14
4. What about bar services?
All alcohol is purchased through the Museum. Bartenders are $75 each for the evening. A busser at $8.50/hour is required for parties of 100 or more. Security Personnel is also required at an additional $100 for the evening. You may configure the bar any way you wish - all cash, all sponsored, combination of both. The bar closes during dinner.
5. May I bring in an outside caterer?
Yes, as long as they are approved by The Ella.
6. How long may my event go?
The building must be secured by 1am - so last call will be no later than 11:30pm.
7. What are the arrangements for payment?
A non-refundable deposit of $750.00 is required at contract signing. The balance plus damage deposit of $300.00 is required two weeks prior to the event. The damage deposit will be refunded once the building has been inspected and cleared. This includes carpet inspection, kitchen inspection, etc.
8. Can my ceremony be in the Rose Garden or the Rotunda?
Yes, but you must reserve through the Parks office = 517.788.4040
9. Is there WiFi availability?
